Update from the Academy
While I'm in the Academy, there are many restrictions on what I can and cannot discuss on the internet. The following will be very brief and remarkably vague, only the names have been changed to protect the innocent...
I've just completed week 13, leaving only 19 more weeks until graduation. To date, I've lost 26 pounds, earning me the nickname "anorexic" from my fellow classmates. Don't worry; I'm not really on the "Karen Carpenter diet", my weight loss is due to the intense physical training and sudden change in my diet. Believe it or not; Pop-tarts and Count Chocula are not part of a well balanced breakfast if you run five miles a day. Go figure.
In the academy, it's tradition to name your gun. Most of the guys go with the standard "Lucille" or "Eleanor". My primary sidearm is "Mary-Kate" and my back up is "Ashley". Together they're a full house.

Always entertaining. Maybe we can compare weight-loss stories sometime during the week of the Shepherd's Conference.
Hopefully this comment doesn't get you in trouble with the Academy.
Congrats on the weight loss. Love the gun names!
Five mile runs - shudder - now that is fun...
Some sensitivity training is in order, I think. Think of the criminals on the other end of the barrels. If I were a murderous miscreant, I'd rather be gunned down by Bruiser or Crusher or the Widowmaker.
Not Mary-Kate or Ashley.
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant.
You rock dude. It's so great to read a post from you. Skh - I was at last year's shepherd's conference - it was great, really great. If you are really bored and want to see a photo of an Aussie with a double chin talking to a Scot with no hair at a bookstall at last year's conference. Then go to the conference web site, click on photos from '05, then click on 'Candids' and I'm on the left in the photo that has 'Chapel' in between us both. I'm laughing and wearing a blue shirt. I would give my extra chin to be at this year's conference. But, I'm in Sydney.
Oh, and Shepherds' Conference is of course a plural possessive...
Well,
At least you didn't name them something like "Steve Perry" or "Lou Graham."

i don't know if skh has looked for that picture yet, but i wanted to let you know that i just spent about 10 minutes trying to get to it. i finally succeeded, and now i know what you and your huge double chin look like. sean was there last year too - but apparently he is not cool enough for the photo gallery. so sad.
What can I say, the Academy's already changed me.
I miss Don Knotts already...
Seriously, Don Knotts was so cool. It's funny--some people make the very most of what they have. That was him!
Pec- What city are you training in? Is that the same one you will be in jurisdiction of (I'm sure that's not the right terminology, but you know what I mean.)
